Azerbaijan, U.S. discuss trade and strategic cooperation

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, met with a delegation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce led by Khush Choksy, Senior Vice President, International Member Relations & Senior Vice President, Middle East & Türkiye.

The delegation includes senior executives and representatives from 31 companies.

The meeting discussed the steps taken to establish strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the U.S., regional connectivity between the countries, including energy, trade, transport, logistics, the TRIPP route, the current state of bilateral cooperation in a number of important areas such as economic investment, plans, and prospects for the development of cooperation with the U.S. private sector.

The bilateral contacts and discussions held separately in these areas toward the preparation of the Charter on Strategic Partnership following the Washington Peace Summit were hailed, and it was emphasized that the Charter to be signed would give additional impetus to relations between the two countries.

The meeting also exchanged views on Azerbaijan's crucial role in the region's energy security, the importance of developing renewable energy resources, the diversification of trade routes along the Middle Corridor, the existing favorable business and investment environment in Azerbaijan, the opportunities for establishing new partnerships, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
