International travelers visit Shusha

As part of their tour of Garabagh and East Zangezur, international travelers led by Harry Mitsidis, founder and head of the "NomadMania" club, have visited the city of Shusha.

The delegation, comprising 79 travelers from 37 countries first visited the central square of Shusha to view the "bullet-riddled statues" of prominent Azerbaijani figures Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli.

The guests received briefings on the history of Shusha, its condition during the thirty-year occupation, and the current reconstruction efforts. It was noted that Shusha's historical buildings, mosques, and monuments fell victim to Armenian vandalism during the occupation. Following the city's liberation, the Azerbaijani state launched large-scale restoration and construction projects. In addition to building modern infrastructure, Shusha is undergoing a meticulous process to restore its original historical appearance and cultural heritage.

The world travelers then visited the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the "Khan Gizi" (Khan's Daughter) spring, the Shusha Fortress walls, and the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque.

This visit is of exceptional importance for promoting the liberated territories within the framework of "dark tourism" and showcasing the extensive reconstruction and restoration work. Between 2020 and 2025, major international traveler clubs organized 15 visits to Garabagh and East Zangezur; this trip marks the 16th such visit.
