India thanks Azerbaijan for facilitating evacuation of its citizens from Iran
On April 3, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with an Indian delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India, while also reviewing cooperation in the fields of economic and trade relations, energy, tourism, and education.
The officials highlighted the positions on existing issues between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in this regard.
The parties also exchanged views on regional and international security issues, the current tensions in the Middle East, noting the importance of ensuring stability and security in the region.
Sibi George conveyed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for facilitating the evacuation of Indian nationals from Iran.
The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual interest.
Subsequently, Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and India held political consultations, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov and by Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
