Azerbaijan’s Economic Council convenes its meeting
On April 14, Prime Minister Ali Asadov chaired a meeting of Azerbaijan’s Economic Council.
The agenda featured detailed discussions on the 2027–2030 Medium-Term Budget Framework (MTBF), key directions and targets of budget policy, priority expenditure areas, and preliminary macroeconomic forecasts for the medium term. The participants also reviewed the macro-fiscal framework, budget sustainability, projected indicators for the state and consolidated budgets for 2027 and the following three years, as well as social policy and other current economic issues.
Reports on the agenda items were presented by Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev, and Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov. Members of the Economic Council and invited guests held extensive discussions on these presentations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted taking into account the opinions and suggestions of the Council members. The Ministry of Finance and other relevant bodies were instructed to proceed with the preparation of the next year’s budget package and the MTBF document.
