U.S. Department of State: We continue to work with Azerbaijani government on priority areas outlined in Strategic Partnership Charter

“We continue to work with the Azerbaijani government on the priority areas outlined in the Strategic Partnership Charter, including regional connectivity, economic investment, energy, security cooperation, and AI,” the U.S. Department of State told AZERTAC.

According to the State Department, the United States and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on critical minerals during Baku Energy Week in June to cooperate on mining, processing, and geological surveying.

“Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr also co-chaired the first U.S.-Azerbaijan Economic Dialogue, which included the signing of cooperation agreements with the Azerbaijani government and commercial deals reportedly worth as much as $8 billion. He also announced an AI Week in Azerbaijan, led by the Department of State’s Bureau of Cyber and Digital Policy,” it added.
