Trailer for Patriotic War film "44" released
The feature film "44" is set to premiere soon. Dedicated to the heroism of the Azerbaijani people during the Patriotic War, the film aims to inspire patriotism in younger generations and preserve the nation's historical memory. It tells a moving story of courage and love through the eyes of a military cadet.
Inspired by the experiences of Azerbaijan's Special Forces, "44" tells the story of a generation defined by courage, resilience, and sacrifice in defense of the homeland. At the heart of the narrative are Special Forces officer Rashad Khalilov, Turkish orthopedic surgeon Zeynab Ozdemir, and Colonel Ramazan Karimov, commander of a special operations unit.
Far more than a war film, "44" is an emotional tribute to the Azerbaijani people — a nation driven by love for its homeland, sustained by hope, and united in its determination to fight for the liberation of its lands.
"44" stands among the most ambitious cinematic productions in Azerbaijan's history, bringing together an extensive creative team, cutting-edge technical resources, diverse filming locations, and international partners on an unprecedented scale.
The film features a cast of Azerbaijani actors alongside celebrated Turkish actress Özge Gürel. To authentically portray their characters, the cast completed intensive military and tactical training at the Azerbaijan Special Forces training base before production began.
Filming took place in Baku, Absheron, Aghdam, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Goranboy, Ganja, Khojavend, Khizi, Lerik, and Shusha, capturing the country's diverse landscapes and historically significant locations.
