President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has congratulated Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election as Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). In his congratulatory letter, the head of state wished the Secretary-General every success in his responsible endeavors.

“Azerbaijan attaches special importance to its cooperation with the OIC, and the current level of our relations is a source of satisfaction,” President Ilham Aliyev said in the letter.

Expressing his confidence that Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed’s leadership of this prestigious organization will contribute to addressing the important tasks facing the OIC and further strengthening Islamic solidarity, President Ilham Aliyev once again wished the Secretary-General robust health, happiness, and success in his honorable work for the prosperity of the Islamic world.
