On August 25, the opening ceremony of the "Sea Cup" international contest was held at the base of Azerbaijani Naval Forces.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Russian Minister of Defense, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu and other guests attended the event.

The guests first laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev erected in front of the headquarters of the Naval Forces and paid tribute to his memory.

Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov welcomed the participants and guests of the ceremony and declared the "Sea Cup" international contest open.

Russian Defense Minister, General of the Army Sergei Shoigu thanked for the high-level organization of the event.
