Egyptian media highlights President Ilham Aliyev’s and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva’s visit to Aghdam

The Egyptian media outlets, including “Asia Al Yom” news agency and “Al Masriya” news website have posted an article highlighting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva's visit to the tombs and house – Imaret complex of the Karabakh khans in Aghdam.

Citing the AZERTAC news agency, the article mentioned that the Azerbaijani President and his wife were informed of the works to be done at the complex.

The article drew readers` attention to the fact that this historical and architectural monument of the 18th century is one of the first estates of the khan dynasty and consists of two buildings.

“As opposed to other khan's palaces located on the Azerbaijani territory, it was a luxurious house. Therefore, it was also called Panah Ali khan's palace,” the article mentioned.

The article emphasized that like other historical, cultural, and religious monuments in the occupied territories, Panah Ali khan's palace was desecrated and vandalized by the Armenians. It was used as a stable.

“The Imaret cemetery located near the khan's palace, where many representatives of the dynasty of the Karabakh khans were buried, was also vandalized by the Armenians,” the article noted.
