Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan Adel Ibrahim as he ends his diplomatic mission in the country.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the Ambassador`s diplomatic activity in the country and thanked him for his contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.

Noting the importance of relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt, the Minister praised the existing cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, cultural and other fields. He hailed successful cooperation between the two countries on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the situation in the region during the post-conflict period, the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated areas. Noting that the elimination of the occupation factor created opportunities for the normalization of relations between the two countries, the Minister stressed the necessity for strict observance of such principles of international law as the principle of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders.

Egyptian Ambassador Adel Ibrahim thanked for the attention and support provided to him during his tenure in Azerbaijan. The Ambassador stressed that Egypt has always supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and stands for ensuring lasting peace in the region. He wished Azerbaijan success in its restoration and reconstruction work, and in this regard, the Ambassador touched upon the involvement of Egyptian companies in reconstruction projects in the liberated areas. He highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas, including the economy, tourism, and others.

The sides exchanged views on the activities of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Arab Republic of Egypt and other issues. They also underlined the great potential for further expansion of ties in the economic, trade and tourism sectors.

FM Bayramov wished Ambassador Adel Ibrahim success in his future endeavors.
