United Nations, European Union and World Bank experts to visit liberated territories of Azerbaijan

A mission comprised of experts from the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), and the World Bank (WB) to assess the needs of restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan on the basis of the Recovery and Peacebuilding Assessment (RPBA) has arrived in Azerbaijan.

The group of experts will familiarize themselves with the needs, as well as works carried out in Aghdam, Fuzuli and Jabrayil districts.

As part of the visit, the experts have met with the leadership of the Interdepartmental Center under the Coordination Headquarters set up for addressing the issues in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in a centralized manner and the heads of working groups operating under the Center.

Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Head of the Secretariat of the Interdepartmental Center Nusrat Suleymanov briefed the experts on the activities of the Coordination Headquarters.

Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov highlighted the importance of the expert mission, adding that as part the visit they would familiarize themselves with the ongoing reconstruction works in the liberated territories.

The sides also exchanged views on the issues of interest to the experts.

Following the visit, the mission will prepare a preliminary report.
